A First Communion luncheon venue 10 minutes from Palatine — built around the Mass schedule. Up to 150 guests, in-house Italian kitchen, family-style menus, free parking. International Banquet, family-owned since 2008.
First Communion isn't a regular party. The morning belongs to the parish, the Mass, the family photos at the altar. The luncheon afterward needs to feel like a continuation of the day. We've hosted First Communion luncheons for families across the northwest suburbs. For other family celebrations, see our banquet hall overview.
Most First Communion luncheons happen on the Sunday of the Mass. Format depends on family tradition and whether multiple cousins are receiving together.
Immediate and extended family, family-style Italian menu. Mass at one parish, luncheon at our hall — guests come straight from church.
Two or three children from one family receiving together. Combined party splits the cost, doubles the photo opportunity.
Two or three families combining First Communion luncheons in one larger event. Common when families are close friends or church members.

Round tables for traditional First Communion luncheons, or long banquet tables for family-style Italian feasts. Religious-tradition décor welcome (cross centerpieces, the child's Communion photo, prayer cards). Many First Communion families also book intimate wedding space — see our intimate wedding space page.
Three steps. Most events lock in within one conversation.
Parish, Mass time, expected guest count, family-style or plated preference, any joint-family coordination. We confirm the luncheon start time aligned to your Mass schedule.
Family Style is the most-booked First Communion format. Confirm dietary restrictions, religious décor (cross centerpieces, the child's photo, prayer cards), cake or dessert preferences.
Family arrives from church to a fully set room. Photos with the child in their Communion outfit. Family-style platters down the table.
Family Style ($29/person) is the most-booked First Communion format — long-table Italian feast that mirrors how Catholic families actually eat together on Sundays. Some families prefer Individual Luncheon ($25/person) for plated service. Family Style is also our recommendation for joint cousin/sibling Communions.

View Full MenuThe luncheon should feel like a continuation of the Mass, not a pivot. Most missteps come from treating the luncheon like a regular party — loud music, too-formal seating, fast-paced service. Family-style Italian (long table, platters down the middle, conversational pacing) mirrors how Catholic families actually eat together on Sundays. It's the most-booked format for a reason.
Coordinate the Mass time with us before locking the date. Different parishes have different First Communion Mass schedules — 10:30 AM, 11:00 AM, sometimes Saturday evening. Tell us the parish and Mass time when you inquire; we'll confirm a luncheon start window that gives families time to photograph at the altar and drive over without rushing.
Joint Communions are quietly the best-value format. Two or three cousins receiving the same Sunday, combined luncheon, one menu, one room, two or three families splitting the cost. The kids enjoy being together, the photo opportunity doubles, and the per-family cost drops meaningfully. Talk to your siblings about it before booking solo.
My son's First Communion — family-style Italian, grandparents from both sides. The team coordinated arrival from Mass, set up the cross centerpieces, had the cake ready when we arrived. My mother said it felt like Sunday at her own kitchen table, just bigger.
Three cousins receiving First Communion the same Sunday — combined luncheon, three families. The team set up separate photo areas for each child but kept the meal as one family event.
My daughter's Confirmation reception — plated dinner format, godparents and family from out of town. The luncheon respected the religious nature of the day without being stiff.
What Catholic families ask before booking.
Yes — this is how we plan every First Communion luncheon. Tell us the parish and Mass time, and we confirm the luncheon start window. Most families come straight from Mass; we set the room and start service when you arrive.
Yes. Many families bring cross centerpieces, the child's Communion photo, prayer cards, or rosaries. Our team places everything respectfully before guests arrive.
Yes — and it's one of our most-booked combinations. Two or three children receiving in the same Communion class, combined luncheon for both families. Splits the cost meaningfully and doubles the photo opportunity.
Yes. Three families with children in the same class can split one luncheon. Each family gets its own photo area and cake moment within the broader event.
Family Style ($29/person) is the most-booked First Communion format — long-table Italian feast, slower-paced service so grandparents can talk through the meal. Individual Luncheon ($25/person) for families preferring plated service.
Yes. Italian-Polish, Polish-American, Filipino-American, Mexican-American Catholic families — custom menus accommodate dual-cuisine traditions.
Most run 40–70 guests for single-family events, up to 100+ for joint cousin or multi-family Communions. We can host up to 150.
